All Communication Matters Speech Pathology has been running successful group programs for over 10 years. Our groups combine explicit teaching of skills with fun, functional and interactive, group activities. Groups provide a supportive environment for clients to learn and practice skills with peers, which assists in transferring skills to everyday situations.
Our groups are planned and run by experienced speech pathologists who have a passion for evidence-based and collaborative group therapy. We welcome a wide range of clients to our groups and our approach is inclusive, empathetic and respectful of neurodivergence. This means that we foster self-advocacy and incorporate supports and accommodations to assist participation. Additionally, we encourage the sharing of different ideas and experiences to promote understanding, mutual acceptance collaboration and development of versatile communication skills.
Benefits of group therapy include:
- Fun, functional ways to learn new skills or reinforce skills currently being learned
- Facilitating teamwork and collaboration skills
- Promoting peer learning and self confidence
- Building friendship skills and opportunities
- Cost efficiency
