Group FAQs

Find answers to some frequently asked questions about our groups below

If you are already a client of All Communication Matters your clinician will be able to advise you on the best group for your child. If you do not currently attend All Communication Matters, please read the recommended skills for the group you are considering. Please note that your child’s suitability will be screened based on your responses to the registration questions and may be discussed with you before group spots are confirmed.

Our approach is inclusive. If your child has difficulties with some of the listed skills, they may still be able to attend. Please discuss suitability with your individual clinician or contact the ACM office to discuss available supports and accommodations.

Our groups take weeks to plan. When an expected group member doesn’t attend, this not only affects other children in the group, but the pricing and viability of groups. We understand illness and misadventures occur, however please note that once the service planning fee has been paid, it is non-refundable and non-transferable. The full group fee is payable if notice of cancellation is not provided in accordance with the group terms and conditions as determined when booking.

If, on the day, your child is not an appropriate fit for our group due to significant difficulty with group material or difficulty participating due to behaviour, parents will be immediately notified to come and collect their child and a refund will be provided for the remaining group time.

For groups of 2+ hours children will need to bring a small snack (no nuts please) and a water bottle.

Due to space constraints parents and carers will be unable to observe groups, unless previously arranged. There will be a 10 minute update held at the end of each session that parents/carers are required to attend.

Please note that for Chatter Matters Playgroup, parents or carers are actively involved in the sessions and therefore required to be present for the duration of the group.

Prior notification of allergies including a written action plan in case of allergen exposures, is required.
