School Therapy

Support your child’s communication skills with our convenient and comprehensive school based speech therapy services at partner schools*. Our experienced therapists provide onsite support, providing accessible, personalised support to help students excel in speech, language and social development.
* ACM attends a number of schools around both our Hornsby and Erina offices. You can call our main office to enquire whether we currently attend your child’s school, or if your school is interested in partnering with us for services.

ACM School Services Include

• Individualised assessment: Tailored evaluations to identify your child’s unique needs.
• Tailored therapy: Engaging & effective strategies to support communication development. Our standard school sessions are a 35 minute booking, however when capacity allows we can also offer longer appointment times.
• Post therapy feedback & homework: The clinician sends you a brief update and specific practice activities to support learning & boost progress.
• Collaboration: Clinicians liaise with parents and teachers to assist with holistic care. Our termly review service (service during school holidays) provides a regular opportunity for more detailed progress checks and liaison.
• Convenience: Speech therapy at school saves time & simplifies your schedule by avoiding external appointments.
• Easy payments: Invoices are processed through our secure online payment processing platform, Stripe, within 24hours of your appointment. 

School therapy sessions typically include:

• Collection (and return) of your child from their classroom.
• Check in of any homework and practice activities completed. 
• Direct therapy or assessment activities.
• Planning and handover of homework activities for the next week, including session feedback and take home information sheets or activities.

Regular liaison with your child’s teacher may occur during session times and/or at other times during the clinician’s visit to school depending on mutual availability.

Termly Progress Service

Our school service incorporates a termly progress service for all our school clients. This is conducted during the school holiday period immediately after the Term ends and provides an important opportunity to increase progress and collaboration between parents/carers and clinicians.
The termly progress service will be provided by your clinician, who will consult with you before the end of term to advise how this termly update will be presented. It can be one of the following and will form a compulsory part of our standard school service:

• School Holiday Session in the clinic or via Telehealth (Zoom), where appropriate.
• Parent/Clinician Meeting.
• Termly Progress Report.
• Other services recommended by your clinician such as Longer Session, Resource Preparation, Review Assessment or School Holiday Intensive.

The cost for this service is the same as your therapy session fee (no room rental applied) when choosing options 1-3 above. If an alternative service is agreed, (option 4) then the cost of this will be advised.

The Termly Progress Service is a compulsory part of the school service and is applicable to all school clients across all funding platforms.
Your clinician will contact you to recommend a termly progress service. If a response is not received, or agreed, the termly progress report will be provided by default and you will be charged accordingly, once the report has been provided to you.

Communication Screening
ACM offers preschool and Kindergarten Communication Screening as an opt in service at our partner schools.
