Our talks equip parents with an understanding of the expected ages children develop communication skills and practical, everyday strategies that parents can use to help build strong communication foundations to support school readiness.
These talks are a great addition when paired with our screeners to assist with early identification of communication difficulties.
Schools:
Our parent talks help families better understand the essential communication skills for school years and how these support academic success, friendships, and confidence in the classroom. We share practical strategies parents can use at home to strengthen their child’s language, social communication, and literacy skills.
We can provide talks targeted at certain age groups or areas like school readiness depending on your needs. These talks can be paired with our kindergarten screening to support early school success.
Teacher/Educator Training and Workshops:
We can offer training and upskilling for teachers at schools, preschools and childcare centres to educate staff in all areas of communication development and difficulties and the impact these areas have on a child’s academic performance. We can provide advice and hands on workshops on receptive and expressive language, oral and written narrative development, social skills development, higher level language such as abstract language, and literacy skills including reading and spelling as well as reading comprehension.
Teachers and educators are at the forefront to a child’s preschool and schooling success and we can help staff understand and identify communication difficulties within the classroom as well as evidence based strategies to support these difficulties through engaging workshops.
